Here comes the bride!

Wedding day... a day that every little girl dreams of, and once its a reality- we have a vision of who is going to be there with us, where it is going to be, when it will be... a traditional church, a beach at sunset, a field of flowers, a winter chalet... and above all we dream about what we are going to wear! Do we want to be a modern bride? A feminine bride? A funky bride? The possibilities are endless!

I have been extremely privileged to be able to make some custom bridal jewelry over the past month! I am so honored to be able to make something that is going to be a part of that vision that every bride has. The floating pearls has by far been the most popular style- and is the epitome of delicate femininity.

I can't wait to share with you what I will make for myself as I walk down the aisle in 3 months. Any guesses of what kind of bride I will be?!

Lulu Frost- My newest inspiration!

I ask myself if I could ever do stuff like this? So whimsical (my new favorite word to apply to fashion)- stunning, grandiose... only the most daring fashionista could pull these pieces off. She uses the word heirloom in her jewelry- and her pieces are just that... so unique, and an investment piece that is going to get passed down from generation to generation.

My answer is yes- I think that if I seriously apply myself to developing my craft, the ideas that are continuously floating around in my head could transpire into something as great as this!

Check out her stuff.

Turquoise.

What can I say about turquoise?
Classic. Gorgeous. Trendy. Joyful. Collectible. Feminine. Bold.
If I could work with only turquoise I would be happy. But that would just be boring. Whether worn in a big way, or just a hint of it- turquoise demands to be noticed.

I'm in love with this simple, yet trendy bracelet in white, blue and green natural turquoise- held together with one of my sterling silver signature clasps. I thought that I would throw a necklace and earrings in with the mix just to complete the set... and of course I am still working on my favorite bauble style necklace and bracelet- still to come!

Pretty in Pink Necklace

I just love this necklace for its versatility... it would be perfect with a gorgeous little summer dress, would work with a LBD, but looks just as great with this edgier look of a big cowl neck black sweater and a great denim jacket!
Its made with vintage inspired rhodonite overlapping discs, held together with sterling chain and one of my signature clasps.

*** Look for matching earrings!

There is nothing more special than one-of-a-kind

One of my passions is creating one-of-a-kind pieces for people. Taking a person's favorite gemstone and creating something just for them... taking a picture of a person's outfit and creating them a stunning piece that is going to juje that outfit to the next level for than certain special occasion... even taking something that I've already made and altering it to fit their body and personality to perfection.

This is a piece that I made for my beautiful friend Katie! I had seen this gorgeous yellow silk top on her- so I used solid copper (she's allergic to base metals)- and used a dazzling array of gold toned pearls, amber, carnelian, olive Jade- a perfect mix of colors and textures... I made it long enough that she could wear it long with other chains, or double it up for a shorter look.

Don't be shy- email me, and be the next to get a piece made just for you (or someone you love).

"Every woman should own a set of pearls in one form or another"- Amanda

So I haven't had the guts to tell Todd that I am having a love affair... the love I feel is astoundingly deep, and cuts to the core of me. I wholeheartedly LOVE pearls. In my professional fashionism opinion- They are classic, timeless, bound to be a family heirloom (yes, they still exist).... but when paired with other gemstones, chunky chains, crystal- they are brought to a whole other level. And don't even get me started on different shaped & colored pearls.

Every woman should own:
  1. A set of classic white or cream colored 6mm-8mm pearls (Picture Charlotte a le SATC).
  2. A funkified pearl bracelet- either bauble style, mixed with crystal, and definitely bold.
  3. Some form of a pearl drop earrings (preferably in the same style/type as your funkified bracelet)- that is going to compliment your decolletage.
I love to mix them with swarovski crystal and sterling silver chain- and think that this mix is fashionable, yet still bound to be classic and last a lifetime.

So start your love affair- I assure you that if it isn't already, over time it will be as deep as mine is!
